Patient Care Units

Ambulatory Care Services Department
The Ambulatory Care Services Department provides comprehensive facilities for uncomplicated surgical and non-surgical procedures. It encompasses an admission room, exam areas, family waiting area and semi-private patient rooms.  Telephone: (813) 615-8010.

Cardiology Care Units
The Cardiology Care Units feature an 8-bed Cardiovascular Care Unit (CCU), an 8-bed Cardiovascular Surgery Unit (CSU) and a 20-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Telephone: (813) 615-7843.

The CCU and CSU both feature a unique patient-centered design for superior patient visibility and accessibility. Telephone: (813) 615-7842.

The PCU is comprised of 20 private rooms with telemetry monitoring. Registered nurses certified in critical care nursing and telemetry technicians with EKG training staff the unit.  Telephone: (813) 615-7333.

Other unique features are the Echocardiography Lab, blood gas analysis room, a special procedures room for EP studies and pacemaker insertions.

Continuing Care Center
The Continuing Care Center is a 20-bed short-term skilled nursing facility that provides rehabilitative services and skilled nursing for residents requiring varying levels of medical care.

While the therapy and treatment ordered for each resident will differ, the Continuing Care Center is designed to help each resident adapt to their condition, regain their confidence and reach the highest possible level of independent living-physically, psychologically and socially.

A team approach is used to meet the individual needs of each resident. Team members may include physicians, nursing staff, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, recreational therapists, dietitians, respiratory therapists and others as needed. Telephone: (813) 615-7260.

Medical/Surgical Unit
The Medical/Surgical Units are designated primarily for the cardiac medical, surgical or interventional patient. The staff members have received special critical care and EKG training and are updated and credentialed on new procedures on a regular basis. A comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach enables the staff to address the needs and concerns of cardiac patients and their families. Telephone: (813) 615-7240.

Oncology Unit
The Center For Cancer Care's 46-bed oncology unit specializes in the care of the oncology patient. Nursing staff provide care to all of the different disciplines within cancer care. Staffing consists of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, assistants and unit secretaries. Telephone: (813) 615-7245

Orthopaedic Unit
This 28-bed unit is dedicated to the care of Orthopaedic Center patients. Patients with orthopaedic, neurosurgical and genitourinary problems are cared for by nurses trained and skilled in these specialty areas. Telephone: (813) 615-7250

Pediatric Care Center
The Pediatric Care Center is a 26-bed unit specially designed to provide excellent clinical care in a child-friendly atmosphere. Ill and injured children recuperate in a unique jungle setting created by the artists of Busch Gardens. A multi-disciplinary staff of pediatric specialists offer care for children ages birth to 19 years.  Telephone: (813) 615-7235.

Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) is a 5-bed unit designed to meet the unique needs of critically ill children. A team of pediatric intensive care physicians and nurses, plus other clinicians, provide for the total care of the patient and their family. A parent is offered a sleep chair, when feasible, and guest trays. A family waiting room adjacent to the PICU provides comfort and close communication with staff. Telephone: (813) 615-7335.

Rehabilitation Center
The Rehabilitation Center is a 20-bed comprehensive inpatient medical rehabilitation unit providing physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy and psychological services. The unit is designed to serve patients who have had strokes, amputations, head injuries and other neurological diagnoses.  Telephone: (813) 615-7565.

Pre and Post-Anesthesia Surgical Unit
The 23-bed Surgical Unit provides acute care for patients both before and after surgery. This includes those undergoing orthopaedic, vascular, gynecological, urological, ear, nose & throat surgery, and general surgery. Telephone: (813) 615-8040.
